"Lairg" Crossbody shoulder bag. Leebalson Vintage Donegal Tweed handbag
Medium size crossbody /shoulder /messenger bag in the Lairg pattern. I recently acquired some vintage Donegal Tweed. The label says "Leebolsan" and "made in Republic of Ireland". Can't find any trace on Google but the paperwork with it suggests it's 1960's. BTW if anyone knows the history please do drop me a line. It's a 50 Yr old unused piece of tweed. The colours are more traditional than a lot of my Tweeds but crisp and bright shades of brown, ochre with flecks of greens, yellows and orange.
The bag is handmade in my workshop in Northern Ireland. This is a unique one of a kind bag. I have enough left to make 1 other bag from this fabric so it's unlikely you'll ever meet anyone with another.
Interior is fully lined with chestnut red floral cotton. All seams are minimum treble sewn. Fittings are reinforced. Tweed is faced with foam interfacing to give it strength and structure
