I love making bags. 

Sometimes I just need to remind myself why I do this. I know we all have different ideas about value. I see designers selling often "ugly" bags for huge prices and wonder how much profit they make off a £1500 handbag made in Vietnam.

I'm having a "feeling annoyed" type of day as I feel exploited by someone......

New design christened Lairg

I originally made this design as a one off piece but then was asked if I had "other colours". I've learned a new skill in making the fringe, although I have to admit it's a palaver but the end result is worth it. The last 2 of the design I made flew out of the door within 10 mins of me posting them. Anyway I've christened it the Lairg design. Lairg is a pretty little place in the Highlands which tbh we tend to pass through sometimes stopping for a brew. I've always thought it would be interesting to explore...

Updates to my products

As my designs have developed I've moved to drafting and nearly always using patterns. Originally I rarely used patterns preferring to make them one offs and draw designs directly onto material.   I still make the odd one by this method but mostly my bags are recognisable designs. For this reason I'm going to name my patterns. I thought about names and as I frequently motorcycle up the west coast and highlands of Scotland and decided to name them for my favorite places. The "Kincraig" is a small/medium sized Harris Tweed backpack type bag mixed with wool tartan.  The "Invergarry"...
